Gamers demanded it and Sony listened so Freedom Wars is coming to stores
Sure your sword is bigger then me but I’m the main character.After an uproar of requests by the PS Vita fan-base on the PlayStation Blog, Sony have given in and are pleased to announce that Freedom Wars is getting a physical PS Vita release as well as the already mentioned digital. Both versions will be available on release day.
Freedom Wars is the upcoming action-shooter being published by SCEA and will be exclusively released for the PS Vita. The game takes place in the not-so-distant future where atmospheric pollution has ravaged the planet and resources have become scarce. Due to this mankind have split into communities known as the Panopticons and battle for the left over resources.
Just like the planet mankind has become a harsher entity and they now use convicts to locate resources and battle against the creatures that attack them. You are one such convict, sentenced to 1 million years of penal servitude simply for being alive (according to the trailer) and branded a sinner.
This isn’t the worst thing that happens to you however because mankind is in danger of being dragged into a conflict with ancient beasts because of the actions of the Strongest of all sinners Abel “Strafe” Balt. The only thing that the trailer hints can stop this event is the Great Transformation which of course involves you and some girl tied up in religious symbolism/vines.
In Freedom Wars you and eight other players can/will bring the fight online in co-operative online combat which in this game is a blend of action, shooters and strategy.
For the online mode you will have to choose a city to represent and together with the other members battle it out the other cities and countries to rise in the global rankings. This makes your chose at the start very important and if your playing with a friend, easier for both of you to team up.
Freedom Wars is getting a physical PS Vita release and it’s due out later this year.
