It is no doubt impossible not to know about the latest Apple release which has broken multiple release records. The iPhone 6 has ensured that it would make some waves in the smartphone market, but don’t count out the competition. The market is being saturated by several companies, but none dare to compete with Apple, except for Samsung, which is one of the few that can. The latest Samsung product is the Galaxy Note 4 which is already a major hit with fans, and the original “phablet”, has some advantage against Apple, but which phone comes out on top?
Camera
Since they both are offered as a phablet, some of the most important specs to look at besides the hardware is the camera. For the iPhone 6, its 8MP rear camera, gives users the options of optical image stabilization, 1/3 inch sensor, dual-LED flash, and phase detection on 1.5 pixel size. There have been reviews in which tested the performance of iPhone 6’s flash that believe it provides a slight improvement over the iPhone 5S model. The iPhone 6 also has capabilities of video recording at slo-mo at 240 frames/second, auto-focus, and phase detection.
The rear camera of Galaxy Note 4 provides double resolution, at 16 MP, it performance well in any condition. However compared to the iPhone 6 it has a slight advantage in terms of performance. However, it is a choice that you would need to test out yourself.
Battery Life
Apple has heard the complaints from users, in regards to their small batteries that offer even smaller lifespans. So Apple has given users a mea culpa sort of. The iPhone 6 Plus provides users with a big 2915 mAh battery that allows for up to 24 hours of talk time on 3G. While the iPhone 6 has a smaller 1810mAh battery that allows on 3G network of only 14 hours of talk time.
The battery on the iPhone 6 is so bad that when tested, Sony’s Xperia Z3 outperformed the Apple Product, but couldn’t outperform the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 however packs a 3220mAH large battery, and when tested it outperformed both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus with no problems. Clearly the Samsung knows what it is doing in the phablet market.
