For the good old memories, when we were back in the hood, riding our bikes with CJ, and for the new GTA players, who have only experienced the sunny beaches of GTA V, Rockstar is giving us the treat of experiencing the good old Grand Theft Auto taste on our mobile devices.
Announced to be released this December, the game will take us back to the early 90s and retell the story once told about the groove street families and the harsh life in San Andreas. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, everything starts in the little town called Los Santos. Released back in 2004 for the PC it quickly became a hit, almost as GTA V did in recent days, and since then has left a mark in a lot of GTA fans around the world.
In GTA San Andreas, a lot of new additions to the gameplay of the series were made, including the addition and the wider effect of a lot of accessories, haircuts, tattoos and some great RPG elements, such as fitness skills, riding skills and more. Moreover, for the first time in the series players were able to experience swimming and climbing walls adding a whole new realistic dimension to the game, as in previous titles you weren’t able to climb even the smallest of fences. The wielding of dual firearms was also released for the first time in the franchise.
For the mobile version of the game, Rockstar is making an effort in making the game a little bit better. The mobile GTA San Andreas will feature enhanced graphics with more dynamic and detailed shadows, a whole new world of color with an enriched color palette and a lot of new car models. If we have to make a comparison, we’ll just see how far technology has become and how just in a few years’ time, a game which was only playable on high end computers will now be experienced in a whole new, even better ways on our mobiles.
Rockstar won’t leave anyone out of the equation, as the game is planned to be released on selected devices on all high-end mobile platforms – Windows Mobile, Android, Amazon Kindle and iOS. It is also stated that there will be an iOS7 controller capability available for the game.
Despite the controls, the game won’t be changed much. There will be a new checkpoint system, which will make it easier for the player to progress; however the game will have its original touch. It is yet unknown if we’ll be able to see different parts of the story of CJ; however, it is mostly unlikely.
With the release of GTA San Andreas for the mobile gaming world, Rockstar just goes to show how long of a road this game has gone through and the fact that old legends will never die. They will just be reborn on new platforms. This December, we’ll be able to get our hands on the game and sink right back into our early days of Grand Theft Auto, with the renewed mobile version of GTA: San Andreas.
