GungHo and Nintendo announces Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros Edition with no Western release date

So in the past Mario has jumped on them, burned them, frozen them and more. Killing them with puzzles just seems nice by comparison.

Today GungHo and Nintendo have teamed up to announce that GungHo’s extremely popular mobile title Puzzle & Dragons will be coming back to the 3DS, but this time with a Nintendo twist. The game titled Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros Edition is due out on April 29th but there hasn’t been any Western release dates announced yet.

In the game players will be navigating a Super Mario Bros 3 style world map and will be fighting recognisable members of the Koopa Kings army. In order to defeat them players will have to match three Mario Bros styled symbols on the bottom screen to do damage and the game itself will feature Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser and more.

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros Edition will be the second spin-off title for this series coming to the 3DS, after the first one titled Puzzle & Dragons Z was released in Japan last year.

Shigeru Miyamoto was also there for the announcement and spoke about both the work ethic of Gungho Online Entertainment and that he found out about the series after he saw multiple members of Nintendo staff playing the first title.
