H2A Zanzibar Remake looks as good as ever

by GH Staff

As you may already know, 343 and Certain Affinity have been hard at work remaking and remastering six select multiplayer maps from Halo 2 for the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection. And, thank to IGN, we get not only a walkthrough of the map, but 20 minutes of the map in action.

Both videos can be seen right here. But, we’ll give a short summary of the walkthrough.

To start, the Warthog looks very nice. It it more similar to Halo 4, but is much more detailed overall. The gungoose looks just as you’d expect. A mongoose with a turret on the front. And the ghost looks very shiny and new, the deep purple shade of it looks very nice.

The map itself is very true to the original in terms of visuals. The largest difference is the shear level of detail throughout, from cracks in the stone structures, to graffiti found painted along the walls.

There are a few changes to the map, though. The Sniper nest now has another way for players to access it. The gates that close in the base are still present, but, the blue screen of death terminal is removed (Even though it can be placed again in forge). But, the map largely remains the same.

But, what do you guys think? Do you like the new look of Zanzibar, or “Stonetown”? Are you okay with the changes made on the map? Leave your thoughts below. And remember, stay tuned to Gamer Headlines for all of your Halo 2 Anniversary and gaming news!
