Just yesterday, Rob Semsey, Halo‘s public relations lead, teased a little something here, stating that they had something to show today. While this could have been anything, and the game has already shown so much, it was very much an exciting prospect. I personally was hoping for a little more screen time with the Arbiter, which I more or less got. Well as it turns out, that teaser tweet was nothing short of a truly epic Halo 2 Anniversary Launch Trailer, showing off some absolutely phenomenal cinematics created by Blur for the game.
As seen in the video below, the guys over at Blur have completely remade Halo 2’s cutscenes from the ground up. While these cinematics are not necessarily shot-for-shot, they consist of the same content, and are only improved upon by new camera angles, cinematic style and scene extensions.
If you ask me, the visuals are absolutely mind-blowing. I mean, those faces look pretty damn close to real. Many, myself included, are kind of hoping that Microsoft hires Blur to make a full-length Halo film in this style. I don’t know about you all, but I am incredibly excited for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and this trailer makes me even more elated.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which comes with Halo 2 Anniversary, is releasing on November 11th, so get your wallets ready.
