Some of Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer gameplay footage may have already leaked earlier this week, but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft and 343 Industries from officially revealing an in-depth first look at Halo 5 in the form of 2 brand new videos.

Halo 5: Guardians – First Look, Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal
Tonight, during 343 Industries first “HaloFest” livestream, the game development studio has offered up a detailed first look at Halo 5: Guardians’ multiplayer beta.
In the video below (courtesy of GamersPrey), 343i details various mechanics and features that will be included with Halo 5: Guardians‘ multiplayer beta – such as new armor abilities and the Smart Scope mechanic.
An interesting, eye-opening video showcasing new multiplayer gameplay as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the developers of Halo 5: Guardians playing against professional Halo players can be seen below:
For those unfamiliar with the beta, it officially begins on December 29th. Furthermore, gamers who own Halo: The Master Chief Collection (which releases tomorrow, November 11th) will be able to participate in the beta for 3 weeks, until January 18th.
The beta will pit teams of 4 against each other within 3 different game modes on 7 maps. Naturally, 343 Industries will take players’ feedback throughout the beta to improve upon Halo 5‘s multiplayer gameplay.
In related news, the Fall 2014 issue of Official Xbox Magazine revealed a staggering amount of details regarding 343 Industries’ highly anticipated Halo 5: Guardians.
In an interview with 343 Industries studio head, Bonnie Ross, Official Xbox Magazine asked her a number of various questions in regards to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo 5: Guardians, and the Xbox One.

Halo 5: Guardians (also known simply as Halo 5) is 343 Industries’ upcoming entry into the beloved Halo franchise, and a sequel to 2012’s well-received Halo 4.
The game will be published by Microsoft Studios, developed by 343 Industries, and will be exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox One console.
Halo 5: Guardians is slated to release in Q4 2015.
