In yet another surprise announcement, we discover that every single one of Master Chief’s adventures will be chronicled in a remastered compilation for Xbox One. Halo: The Master Chief Collection was recently revealed and according to Engagdet it will include remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Since this is the ‘Master Chief’ collection, it will not include Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, Halo Reach or Halo Spartan Assault. Previously, 343 Industries remade Halo: Combat Evolved with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, a completely remastered version made for Xbox 360.
This package is a nice way for people to relive the Halo journey from the very beginning, remastered for the Xbox One. No details have been given just yet by Microsoft, so we don’t know the specs of the games or if they will include a multiplayer component for each game. However, as usual, we can infer that big news is coming at E3 2014. The collection will be coming this year.
Halo 5: Guardians was announced earlier today, coming to Xbox One in fall 2015. The game boasts a larger scope, 60fps gameplay and will be a much bigger project than Halo 4. 343 Industries has done a marvelous job taking over the work of Bungie from where they left off with the franchise. Halo 5 will launch alongside the Halo television series, a collaboration with Steven Spielberg. Are you excited for the Halo collection?
