Recently, Dan Ayoub, the Executive Producer of 343 took to twitter to talk about Forge in the Master Chief Collection. The tweet, which can be seen below, promises that Forge in the Master Chief Collection will be discussed at PAX this year.
Getting lots of questions about Forge. We'll be unveiling our plans at PAX!
— Dan Ayoub (@Danayoub) August 13, 2014
For those that don’t know, PAX refers to PAX Prime.a convention held every year. This year, PAX Prime will be held August 29th to September 1st in Seattle, Washington. So, for those of you looking forward to Forge, this will be your time to pay attention!
On top of this, a Pro Halo player also took to twitter, and had an interesting claim. This tweet can be seen below.
Halo 2 Anniversary Coagulation will be the "Forge World" of the Game "Confirmed"
— James Suddoth (@SUDDOTH2) August 11, 2014
As you can see, SUDDOTH claims that the remastered Coagulation map will be the Master Chief Collection’s Forge World. Forge World, the ever popular Forge map from Halo Reach, has always been a fan favorite, so it would make sense for it to return in some capacity.
Next, we got some claims that Halo 3 was being shown in private at Gamescom. This story comes to us thanks to totalxbox.com.
In the article, the author talks about how the senior producer at 343 Dennis Ries treated OXM to a screening of Halo 3 on Xbox One. But, according to OXM, the game is the same Halo 3 you remember, but smoother and crisper than before. Ries promised that once players get the controller in their hands, they will feel the difference. He said “One thing we noticed immediately as we started to get this up and running on the Xbox One is how good the assets look.” He then continued, saying, “It really is a testament to how well Bungie made the game back in the day.”
“There are very high resolution assets, but they didn’t shine through as much as they do now. The Xbox 360 just didn’t have that processing power that the Xbox One does. So we’re really impressed and happy with what we’ve been seeing and playing.”
Ries went on to say that some particular assets looked especially good, telling OXM, “the water, and a lot of the lighting and stuff really shine. So we’re very impressed, and we can’t wait for people to play the game and see the progress it’s made.”
So, hopefully 343 will present Halo 3 at PAX. But, until then, stay tuned to Gamer Headlines. For comparison, the E3 2006 trailer, which was rendered in engine, and the final 2007 version of the game are shown below.
So, it can be expected that Halo 3 in The Master Chief Collection will look similar to the E3 2006 trailer. Especially since Halo 3 didn’t even run at 720p when it was on the Xbox 360.
But, what does all of this make you guys think? Are you excited for Forge in the Master Chief Collection? What about Halo 3 on the Xbox One? Leave your thoughts below. And remember, stay tuned to Gamer Headlines for all of your Master Chief Collection and gaming news!
