Google Inc. recently released the source code of Android 5.0 Lollipop and several smart phone manufacturing companies had checked whether this latest version is compatible with their premium mobiles or not. As per the Sony Mobile Blog, the manufactures revealed that the latest android update can be successfully updated on the Z series. They even clarified that they had successfully installed the latest OS update on all the Z series mobiles without any issues. If the reports are true, all the phones in the z series i.e. Sony Xperia Z1, Z2, Z3 can be updated to the beta version of Lollipop, which released on 3rd November 2014.
Sony even asked reviews from its users so that the company can get some inputs from the users and customize the Lollipop according to the requirements of its users. Sony officially announced that the original version of Lollipop for its users will get released in the next year and the Sony users need to wait for two to three more months to get full benefit of the update. As of now almost all the Sony devices in the Z series starting from Z3 to Z Tablet can be updated to this beta OS.
The new android update will have enhanced security features, better control over apps and battery management, improved security through rectifying bugs and other issues, improvement in several other parameters including user interface, graphics, performance etc. But the latest update of android will be first seen on Nexus series (4, 5, 7, 9 and 10) and after that only other mobile manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola, LG etc will release their models with the latest OS and this may happen next year (2015) only.
As per the latest reports the latest android OS has some glitches and bugs which need to be taken care of. After the latest update in Nexus 5 the batteries are draining much faster than the wifi enabled devices. This is confirmed by the Google officials also and they admitted this glitch was solved already. Yet some bugs which are reported need to be solved and there are chances that more bugs can be revealed after the latest OS got rolled out for more devices.
After updating their Sony smart phones to latest OS, one can enable the material design which has smooth animations and transitions. The notification panel is also changed and new 3D layers got introduced. The personalized unlocking pattern is one of the most important features and Google Inc. is saying improved battery life as they had implemented project Volta which is dedicated for improvement of battery life. These are some of the changes one can experience after updating.
Sony users are expecting much more customizations to this latest update as these features are itself available in the basic version and the manufacturers and developers can add more features according to their requirements. Sony users are expecting that the latest Lollipop update will be available to the other Sony devices (smart phones and tablets) very soon.
