All fans of Dragon Age should be happy to hear that the mobile version of this amazing franchise is finally out. Available for free at the Google Play store and iTunes, Heroes of Dragon Age is somewhat of a collectible card game with better graphics and animation effects.
Inspired by CCGs, the combat system is not exactly what you would expect from a Dragon Age game. The animations and graphics are amazing, especially for a tablet, but the game simply seems unimaginative and rather dull. Even though you can go through various quests and collect heroes, building your unbeatable team, at the end of the day, you just sit and watch a computer simulated battle. Yes, you are responsible for which heroes are in your team and if they are leveled up. You just sit and watch how your heroes fight.
As a whole, the game features some rather neat options. One of the things that are quite satisfactory is the ability to sacrifice some of your heroes in order to level up others. Basically, you let one of your heroes consume the ones you are not happy about. Other than that, the game is what it is.
Heroes of Dragon Age is a game, which feels exactly like a collectible card game and there is nothing wrong with that. However, there is just something that is missing. As you play the game, you get excited, you feast your eyes on the beautiful animations, but you feel that there is something missing from the game.
Everything is static. As aforementioned – Computer stimulated battles, which you have no control over are the main reason for that. Although you are collecting your heroes and leveling them up, one way or the other, you don’t have even the slightest control over them, when they are battling.
Released by EA, the game is free-to-play, but as any other game – there are micro transactions. It is early to say, if this game is going to be a pay-to-win one, but the paid options that the game gives you, definitely bring a difference. Rather than only letting you pay with real money for a randomized set of heroes, you are given the chance to purchase a 100% certainty on a rare one. This will probably be the thing, which tips the scales in favor of the paying players, but we will still have to wait and see how the game will turn out.
As a whole, Heroes of Dragon Age is definitely not a game for the hardcore player. It is quite fun and enjoyable, but only if you are into collecting and then watching your collectibles fight. The game is a definite recommendation for the Dragon Age fans, as it features some amazing graphics and animations and the heroes are related to the franchise. If you download it until the 13th of December you will be receiving an exclusive Dark Revenant, so if you are excited – be sure to check out the title now. If not – don’t. It is as simple as that.
