HTC One M8 looks much similar to the HTC One (M7), but it brings added surprises with it. Today, we will have a closer look at the specs and features of both the devices, putting them side by side to get a better idea about the differences between them.

HTC One M8 with a bigger display

HTC One (M7) is traded in 4.7-inch display (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) that presents 468ppi pixel density. The color contrast is good, the image is good and the screening angles are excellent.

When we talk about HTC one M8 we see a 5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolutions and of 441ppi pixel density.

As we can see, there is a slighter difference regarding the display but not as much to bring a much noticeable difference to human eye.

HTC One M8 – A solid devise with color variety

One M7 got a huge appreciation for excellent design and the One M8 sticks with the equivalent fame but there are a few differences indeed.

Both devices have aluminum build and front – facing speaker at upper and lower side, but M8 now has an aluminum back cover that enfolds the sides. One M7 with the dimension of 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.33mm and weight 143g is lighter than the One M8 with 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35mm dimension and 160g weight.

However, M8’s metal body gives a better feel in the hand. The HTC One M8 has more variety in colors: Amber Gold, Gunmetal Grey, and Arctic Silver.

Enhanced front and rear camera for M8

Here the bigger difference lies for the two products.

Alike Ultra Pixel sensor with f/2.0 slit on (M7) is also at hand on One (M8) but with a bonus feeler above it which is Duo Camera. HTC One M8 is a superior and faster performer in comparison here.

The front camera also makes a difference with the HTC One (M8). 5 megapixels camera of M8 ensures better selfies than those with the 2.1 megapixel front camera on M7.

Better performance with HTC One M8

In terms of processor and battery power, the later product again takes the lead.

HTC One (M7) features 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (600 processor). On the other hand, the new device is launched with 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (801 processor).

It brings an obvious improvement in the device to cope with day by day tasks. Although the consumers are satisfied with the performance of M7 but faster is always better in an overall experience.

Both of the devices feature 2GB RAM.

One (M8) with 2,600mAh battery is inspiring when it is about endurance while the M7 has 2,300mAh battery.

M8 adds microSD for Enhanced Storage

16 GB storage capacity is lower than the 34 GB and 64 GB capacity for M7 but it can be expanded to 128 with the help of a microSD card.

65 GB of free “Google Drive space” with M8 is worth mentioning here although, 25GB of Dropbox space was proposed with M7.

Sense 6.0 & Android 4.4.2

Just similar to other recently publicized flagships, the HTC One-M8 has Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Sense 6.0 brings better changes and features to M8 although, the older device can also be updated to bring the new advancements to it. Sense 6.0 is an improvement of the Sense 5.5 on the HTC M7. It is slicker but not a huge change.

Conclusion

No arguments that HTC One M8 is succeeding an already dazzling device. Almost all the specs have been improved. But HTC One-M7 is still a worth having device and you won’t get disappointed if you continue using it.
