In the arena of smart phones Samsung, Apple and HTC are bigger giants when compared with other companies offering smart phones. After the competition amongst Apple and Samsung, people always look forward to compare products between HTC and Samsung. Both the companies have covered most of the Android market of smart phones. Both of them have released smaller versions of their flagships, Galaxy S4 and HTC one, but here we considering another model as well and we will compare it with its smaller brother and the mid-tier of Samsung galaxy S4.
HTC one Mini
HTC launched its mid-tier smart phone with amazing 4.7 inch display that supports 1080×1920 pixels resolution with 469ppi, after few they again launched mini version of with LCD 2 display of 4.3 inches screen. But this they decreased it resolution to 720×1280 and considered the pixel density of 342ppi. Samsung has made the similar thing with galaxy S4, mini version with same screen size enabled with super AMOLED technology with lower resolution of 540×960 pixels with 256ppi. Similar to HTC one Galaxy s4 has been benefitted from corning Gorilla Glass2 which protects against scratches, while min version of HTC one is available with Corning Gorilla Glass3.
The mini version of Samsung Galaxy S4 is the lightest of all weighing 107 grams and thinnest as well with 8.9mm at the same time, HTC one weights 122 grams with thickness of 9.3mm, while its big brother weights 143 grams and thickness of these smart phones is same as its younger version.
OS and Hardware
Mini version of the both smart phones companies are powered by dual core processor which is based on Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 chip set and using Adreno 305GPU. When it comes to HTC one mini, it has Krait processor which is clocked at 1.4GHZ, galaxy S4 mini newer Krait 300 which the clock speed of 1.7GHz. HTC one has same processor but it is faster because it has four cores.
The biggest strength of HTC one is its 2GB and sufficient internal memory, available in two variants 16 and 32GB. The only reason behind its criticism is lack of micro SD card slot for expansion; you might have to face difficulties with the storage.
The operating system of HTC one is Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), then it received v4.3 (Jelly Bean) update and now runs v4.4.3 (Kit Kat).
Cameras
HTC one comes with 4MP rear camera but with optical image stabilization, LED flash, auto focus, 2um pixel size, smile and face detection, HD video and image recording. The secondary camera of this handset is 2.1MP and front on the min version is 1.6MP. We need to specify that it lacks optical image stabilization. The S4 has been given 8MP camera to take accurate pictures. It has 1.9MP front camera.
Batteries
Both HTC one models have non removable battery, but HTC one has bigger battery with 2300 MAH and supports up to 18 hours of talk time on 3G. The battery one mini is 1800MAH; you will be able to use it for 13hours and 20 minutes with 3G. The galaxy s4 mini hosts 1900 MAH battery with 12 hours of talk time on 3G.
