A new downloadable title from Hiroshi Iuchi, the creator of acclaimed shooter Ikaruga, is being developed for the PS4.
The project, called Ubusuna, was announced earlier today on Iuchi’s blog, though not many other details were revealed besides the fact that it will be a “shooter.”
As of right now, the title is being developed for the PS4, though Iuchi doesn’t rule out the possibility of it becoming a multi-platform release. It’s too early in the development process to tell, and Iuchi wants to focus on one budget.
Ikaruga is an Arcade “shoot ‘em up” originally released in 2001 and has gained more and more popularity over the years. The game has since been ported to the Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox Live Arcade, and is now available on Steam.
We’ll have more updates as they come, though fans will have to wait patiently for Ubusuna. Could this be a good time to see a port of Ikaruga on a Sony console?
