Yesterday, Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward released a teaser trailer showcasing new multiplayer maps – speculation suggests there are four – and a new weapon, content that will be coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass holders. “Season Pass holders: this is for you,” the studio announced in a recent Instagram posting via Twitter, where the trailer was published. According to a recently leaked document regarding Call of Duty: Ghosts, it is presumed that this additional content bundle, or even the weapon itself, is called “The Ripper”.

The new weapon, hereinafter referred to as “the Ripper”, appears to be a sub-machine gun and an assault rifle hybrid, which is considered to be similar to the Maverick-A2 weapon featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Onslaught DLC, a weapon that can be transformed from an assault rifle into a sniper rifle and vise versa. The Ripper, however appears to be able to transform from a sub-machine gun to an assault rifle in real-time, unlike the Maverick, which only switches between variants.

he Ripper is featured in the Call of Duty teaser trailer, and its aesthetic is very modern-futuristic, something which I personally have a fancy for. Thanks to the efforts of Twitter user @CookiesAreLaw, who managed to uncover some high-resolution images of the Ripper in the files of the PC version of Call of Duty Ghosts, we can now more comprehensively appraise the new weapon coming to Season Pass holders. At the end of the teaser trailer, it stated that players should “stay tuned for big news tomorrow.” Since the video was published yesterday, we should anticipate to hear something from Infinity Ward very soon.
