If you are running Minecraft from a Windows operating computer PC or laptop, here’s how the Optifine mod may be installed in order to run correctly. The installation is manual not automatic. See the details below:
1. Open “Run” from the start menu (windows XP) or select the search field from the start menu (Windows 7). Type: %appdata%. The Minecraft folder should be there, in the folder that opens.
2. Open the “bin” folder and right click on the Minecraft.jar file. Open it with a 7zip opener like Winrar.
3. Delete the META-INF folder from inside the Minecraft.jar file.
4. Open the Optifine ultra D3 downloaded package and copy (drag and drop) all the files with .class extension to Minecraft.jar.
5. Close all the opened windows and run Minecraft to test the game.
