What has indie game studio Insomniac Games thrived at for 20 years?  Well, staying indie.  For 20 years, Ted Price and the crew at Insomniac Games have given the world memorable hot-selling titles while also managing to constantly emit an indie vibe.  Many gamers may recall Spyro the Dragon, one of the games that truly made the first generation Playstation a memorable experience.  Insomniac Games, most famously known for their high-selling Ratchet & Clank franchise, has survived for 20 years in an industry which has become increasingly cut-throat over the years.

Insomniac games celebrated this achievement with a music video.  The video was appropriately titled “Crazy Ride”.  In the video, Ted Price and other members rock out to a fusion of grunge and hip-hop while recalling the ups and downs of Insomniac Games over a 20 year stretch.  The music video, in which Ted Price and the crew sport bad wigs and hip-hop wear, generates nostalgia and pays homage to the characters and series responsible for the great success of Insomniac Games.

Currently Insomniac Games is working on Sunset Drive, which is an open-world shooter built exclusively for the Xbox One.  This is the first game by Insomniac that will be exclusive to the Xbox.  Insomniac Games promises that Sunset Drive will reflect the stylization, personality and humor of past titles such as Spyro and Rachet & Clank.  Here’s to another 20 years of Insomniac Games.
