Being one of the most reputable makers of the best devices in the smartphone industry, there isn’t any stopping Samsung from releasing its new versions its Galaxy series of tablets—Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 10.1 as the most recent ones. It was the Note 10.1 that was released first but the two were made available in the market the same year. These devices can be used as smartphones too because they are capable of providing functionalities like the normal phones. They are compatible on 2G and 3G networks. Now what else is worth knowing about these two tablets?

Size and Weight

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is smaller than its competitor Note 10.1 which means that there are differences on their thickness, length and width. Of course, this information should imply as well that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is heavier because of its size, right? If you would hold the two tablets, you would really figure out the difference right there and then. So basically, the Note 8 is part of the small tablets family while the Note 10.1 is part of the large tablets category.

Now what’s the verdict for the size and weight category? The smaller size and the ease of holding the Note 8 make it worth leaning towards. It is even more appealing to buy because it is very light so it won’t likely tire your hands.

Screen and Display

The two of them feature capacitive multi touch screens that are able to render 16M colors. Just that there are differences between these two tablets and one of those is the type of display technology that they use. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 uses PLS TFT LCD display while its counterpart utilizes TFT LCD display technology. Another difference is in the pixel density which is richer for Note 8 at 189ppi as opposed to 149ppi for Note 10.1. Also, the two have light sensors but it’s the Note 8 which has an added proximity sensor.

In this category, big is what’s more advantageous even if the other tablet has a richer pixel density since the Note 10.1 has its screen size and display technology that helps it win the battle, resulting to around 58% of sharper and happier images, texts and videos.

So it’s kind of difficult to pick one better tablet based on the two categories above wherein the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 won because of its size that offer ease of holding on the hand while the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 won on the screen and display category.
