For its iPhone 5 series, Apple decided to launch two models under it and in the process making a big change in their blueprint for smartphones. This change has been accepted in the market under various reactions. While this posed a great choice of smartphones for Apple users, some of them did not think anything great about the decision. Nevertheless, both of Apple’s iPhone 5 series, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are sold in the market, giving the company enough profitability. The obvious point here is that iPhone 5S definitely comes with a much better hardware than iPhone 5C, though 5C is surely cheaper and comes with its own interesting feature.
Interface and Functionality
As far as the software of both the smartphones is concerned, both of them have similar configurations for its software as Apple is not one to do weaken the uniformity that it has maintained in all its devices till date. Both iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C incorporates the iOS 7 which was introduced in the market through the iPhone 5. This OS delivers similar visual experience in 5S and 5C as was seen in iPhone 5. Both the handsets are similar in some departments such as notification center, Siri, control center and multi-tasking.
The department which denotes the difference between the smartphones is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The display screens and features for texting messages are more or less the same in 5S and 5C. The keyboard panel of the handsets is worth mentioning as it has an amazing feature called the auto-correct. Using this feature, the users are able to type smoothly with less typing mistakes.
Processor and Memory
The department of processors is the most fascinating one with regards to the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. While the iPhone 5S runs on Apple’s advanced processor version i.e. the A7 dual core processor chipset clocked at 1.3GHz, the iPhone 5c, on the other hand, runs on a lower version A6 dual core processor chipset clocked at same speed of 1.3GHz. Though both of them run on different chipsets, they still deliver the same experience with regards to performance. They are so similar in many aspects that at times it is impossible to make out the difference. Yet it is the 64-bit technology of 5S that makes it more attractive than 5C.
In the storage department, 5S is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB forms. Unfortunately the 5C is not available in 64GB storage space and offers only 16GB and 32GB.
Pricing
Both iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are available in the market under a very compelling cost arrangement. While the contract rate for 5C is comparatively low-priced at $100, 5S charges contract rate of $200. It is still good to note that the differentiation can be overlooked when keeping in mind the extra technology and features such as Touch ID fingerprint sensor and advanced camera options that 5S incorporates. Additionally, the 5S contains 64-bit technology which has made its debut through this handset and can be very useful in its own way.
