Jailbreaking The iOS 8.1

by GH Staff

Any device running the iOS 8.1, including iPads and the iPhone 6 can be jailbroken by following a series of procedures. This entails users to exploit many of the features and operate more functions than the device traditionally provides on the iOS 8.1. The jailbroken device also allows users to run games and applications which may not have been supported traditionally.

All iOS 8.1 devices which need to be jailbroken must be set to keep all of the passcodes and identification points off. Any other personalization feature such as that of finding the device should also be tuned off. This should be done as the process will require as much memory and space as it can possibly find in order to be jailbroken successfully.

During the process of the jailbreak, the device will be required to run in the airplane mode of operation in order to prevent any interruptions or disruptions as also to prevent more usage of memory. Once the process is complete, the device can be switched back to its normal mode of operation.

Before the jailbreak process is started, users must ensure that all data is securely backed up either on iCloud or on the user’s iTunes. The iTunes version needs to be higher than 12.0.1 for the process. The OS for the device should strictly be iOS 8.1.

The process uses the help of a program called Pangu which works on Windows OS and can be easily downloaded from the internet at the Pangu website. Once the proper version of the software has been downloaded, installed and updated, the iOS 8.1 device is ready to be unlocked. Users must need to ensure that they are using the proper version of the program else the jailbreak may not prove to be successful.

The next step in the process requires the iOS 8.1 device to be connected to the computer which has the correct version of Pangu installed. Pangu can then be launched to initiate the process. The device will undergo a multiple number of reboots during the process and requires this in order to be updated fully with a different code. This enables compatibility with many other non-supported programs. The Pangu app appears on the menu screen alongside other applications on the device. The app will also notify the user once the jailbreak process has been successfully completed.

Once this jailbreak has been completed, users can download and install the Cydia application, which will then enable them to customize their iPhone or iPad as per their preferences. The jailbroken device will support many non-compatible programs and allows users to access many more functions on the device.

For many users, the benefits of having their phones jaibroken, outweighs the small amount of risk associated with the process by far. With Pangu having released the latest program for the iOS 8.1, the process proves to be a really simple one if users follow the procedure step by step. Many have already tried it out and have unlocked the full potential of their devices running iOS 8.1.
