The final character that is part of the season 1 of content for Killer Instinct will finally hit the game on April 9: Fulgore. A new launch trailer reveals some gameplay of this mechanized combatant’s various skills and attacks, showing that he’s just as tricky as the other characters in the game. He will be released as part of a title update for Killer Instinct that adds Arcade Mode, a highly requested single player feature, as well as 8 player online lobbies. Double Helix Games developed Killer Instinct for Xbox One and handled the release of the additional characters until now, however Microsoft Studios has brought in Iron Galaxy to take over the next season of content for the game. Double Helix was acquired by Amazon, meaning that further development of content for the game would have to be dealt with by a separate studio. Killer Instinct is a free-to-play fighting game available exclusively to Xbox One that can be downloaded with one available character from the start. You can either purchase new characters individually for $5 or buy the Ultra Edition which retails at $39.99 and gets you all the characters straight away, including the two characters Spinal and Fulgore who have been released post launch.
