It has been more than 6 months now since the Korean giant released its much awaited flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S5. This phone doesn’t look any different on the surface from its predecessor S4 but it comes with a slightly larger screen display. There might not be that much difference on how it looks with its other siblings but the Galaxy S5 has a lot of great features which we will take a closer look at in this article.
Heart Rate Monitor
The manufacturer claims that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the first handset which comes with a built-in heart rate detector positioned at the back beside the LED flash. What it will do is track the heart rate of the user through his or her index finger. While this isn’t the best and most useful feature in the world of smartphones, this would prove very helpful especially for those people who are keeping tabs of their health.
Finger Scanner
It was the iPhone 5S which first offered the fingerprint sensor in the smartphones market allowing its user to gain access to the phone with his or her fingerprint instead of keying in a password. Taking a cue, the Galaxy S5 now has the finger scanner allowing its user to authorize some logins to a number of applications requiring added security. The finger scanner can even be used to make payments on PayPal and the app store.
Ultra Power Saving Mode
Considering that many Samsung users have complaints about the battery of their handsets, the Samsung Galaxy S5 was upgraded to offer 20% more battery life and apart from this, the manufacturer also added the ultra-power saving mode feature to it. Say for example you are outside and your phone’s battery is already at its 10%, you can just activate the ultra-power saving mode feature of the phone and any unnecessary processes and features will be eliminated. Turning on this feature if your phone has only 10% of battery life will give you 24 hours extra to use the device.
Private Mode
The manufacturer has offered this feature to its Galaxy S5 users to make sure that whatever they want to keep private will remain safe. The users can either just nominate a passcode or use the finger scanner say for example they are saving important messages or credit card details that they don’t want anyone else to gain access to.
Google Voice
This feature has been offered in many Android devices but this won’t be as useful as how Galaxy S5 has made of it. If you would say ‘Okay Google’, the phone will bring up the option to say whatever you want to search on Google and spot the right resource.
So there you have it, the top 5 features offered by the Samsung Galaxy S5. All of these features are easy to use so you should be able to take advantage of all of them.
