Assassin’s Creed is a period action-adventure open world stealth video game that is currently about to have its fourth version launched. Available on Windows, Nintendo, Xbox, play Station 3, play Station 4, etc, this is one of the most highly awaited games and thus Assassins Creed 4: Black flag has amassed a lot of hype prior to its release.
The fourth venture of this franchise includes players who act as pirates and try to land a wholesome fortune in the 17th century. The game is action packed with a lot of combats and fights. The players get to embark on voyages, talk to other pirates, fight the Spanish colonies, etc. The Assassins Creed 4 requires approximately 20 hours to complete the main part of the story and another 50 hours are required to fulfill all other parts of the game and some speculate there could actually be a total of 80 hours worth of gameplay making this the biggest game of the franchise in terms of content.
The first previews of Assassins Creed 4 has created quite a stir as it is being hailed as the best version amongst the pre-released ones till date. The action, features and gameplay have been thoroughly praised and have received perfect ratings. The hype around this game has made avid gamers even more excited about the release.
Edward Kenney fits into the role of an assassin this time. Although the story resembles Assassins Creed 3 and Edward is the grandfather of Connor, they have new protagonists this time. Blackbeard is one of the new characters and he acts the part of the narrator in the trailer and is a comrade pirate of Edward. Benjamin Hornigold, Calico Jack, Charles Vane and Anne Bonny are the latest additions in the form of historical figures who are pirates.
Assassins Creed 4 explores the underwater locations for the first time ever in the series. Set amidst the islands of the Caribbean; Havana, Kingston and Nassau are few of the playable destinations. The gamers shall be able to explore new destinations as well via Edwards’ ship Jackdaw.
The enemies, combats and challenges take a new level with the inception of complex naval combats, a hint of which has already been seen in Assassins Creed 3. The naval combats feature new enemies, challenges and weapons thus making the game even stealthier.
There are many new weapons although the traditional daggers and throwing knives have been retained. The Hidden Blade marks its return in the armory of the pirates, whereas Flintlock pistols and Poison Blowguns are present as well to help the pirates during their journey; the former is a lethal weapon whereas the latter guides Edward through his missions.
The naval combats have been given much prominence this time and it is one of the reasons for Assassins Creed 4 to have been hailed as the best Assassins Creed version so far. Animals such as sharks can be found in the seas and a lot of detail has been given to the newly introduced fully underwater naval combat. The precision and detail given to the flora, fauna, etc. escalates the gaming experience to another level.
October 29 2013 shall see the launch of Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions of the game whereas November 21-22, 2013 shall be the release date for PS 4, PC and Xbox One versions.
