El-Shaddai-Ascension-of-the-Metatron

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron stars holy armor wearing Enoch (a Biblical character) that much find seven fallen angels and stop a great flood from wiping out humanity. It sounds kind of lame, right? Believe me, this action-adventure epic is anything but. One of the most visually unique games of the last console generation, for some reason this game flew under so many radars nobody knows it even exists. It’s a game you must play at least once, because believe me, this game is awesome.

The sequel to American McGee’s horror classic Alice, Alice: Madness Returns is another game that didn’t get nearly as much notoriety as it should have. Taking the role of a grownup Alice that has since become insane (she believes she set Wonderland ablaze), Alice thinks she is cured of her insanity, until one day she begins have hallucinations of Wonderland once again. Assured by the Cheshire Cat that an evil outside force is actually causing havoc on Wonderland, Alice must use multiple tools and weapons to bring peace back to Wonderland. Starring the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, and of course the Queen of Hearts, Alice: Madness Returns is one of the creepiest games I played last console generation. It’s well worth the price of admission regardless of if you want to be creeped out or play a decent action-adventure title (or a mixture of both). If I’m not mistaken, it also contains the original Alice too, so you can see the beginnings of Alice’s insanity before diving back into Wonderland in Alice: Madness Returns.

As stated above, this is the first of many games that were overlooked during the last console generation. Expect a second-parter sometime down the road, but until then, I’ll turn the post over to you guys. What do you think was the most overlooked game of the last console generation?
