Battlefield 4-Latest Notes on Patch Update

Battlefield 4 Lawsuit Dropped

To implement a variety of improvements and fixes to its online service, DICE rolled out a key update for Battlelog. The first thing the update fixes is an issue where Xbox One Premium members were not able to have their subscriptions recognized by Battlelog. It also re-enables the Personal Computer Live Scoreboard version and improves Commander Mode.

However, some functionality has been taken away as a result of the update. Second screen app of Battlefield 4 Battlescreen has been disabled temporarily on Xbox One. In the meantime, players can continue with the use of the Smartglass app. By February 28, functionality for Battlelog’s Group Chat Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) will be retried fully. The recent released Battlelog Updates Notes are as follows:

Announcements

  • On February 28th, the functionality of Group Chat VoIP will have to be retired. The notice message has now been placed in group chats.
  • Even though BattleScreen has been disabled temporarily in Xbox One Battlelog’s tablet app, in the meantime users can access the Smartglass app.
  • PC servers have Live Scoreboard fully functional as it has been re-enabled. As for console servers, they will have to wait for a short while the same is rolled out.
  • Support has been added for content pertaining to China Rising. It is going to be released to Premium users by 3rd of December.

Improvements and features

  • Varying minor improvements
  • To be compatible in any screensize, the tablet app’s popup windows have been made scrollable.
  • Presently, you can view expansion pack icons when in Assignments even when you get access to its expansion pack.
  • As you quickmatch in Tablet Commander, you will no longer be included in the number of Commander present on the found server.
  • To prevent it from resetting, the setting for invisible mode has now been permanently stored.
  • Currently, it is possible to track all Battlepacks that are in the Battlepacks page.
  • If there is a lack of free Commander Slots, the button ‘Join as Commander’ on tablets has now been disabled.
  • Loadout had an info panel added that will show additional attributes for an item selected.
  • Loadout got expansion pack icons added.
  • On unlocks and stats pages, images for bigger items are now showing for vehicles and weapons.
  • Support for Live Scoreboard and Air Superiority battle reports has been added.
  • The Play Now tab present in multiplayer has been added Air Superiority.

The Fixes

  • Some varying minor fixes have been implemented.
  • Varying fixes for BattleScreen have been done for the Smartglass app.
  • The pages for the menu of Tablet Commander have undergone various fixes.
  • An issue that used to prevent ‘Use system language’, which is one of the tablet app’s settings, from working has been fixed.
  • The ‘away’ state used to kick in was prevented in the Com Center. This issue was fixed.
  • In the notifications in in-game, the default avatar would fail to show. This issue has been fixed by the patch.
  • The Premium entitlement is now properly checking for Xbox One users.
  • In the event a sub-comment was hidden, posted comments would receive a negative Hooah! This issue has since been resolved.
  • The Assignments page had an issue resolved where there was a ‘Misc’ category that was empty.
  • It is now impossible to track vehicle accessories that have already been looked.
  • To avoid the service star counter overlapping with the icon for the expansion jack, it was moved to the right.
  • An issue where a player was able to increase more emblem layers than was allowed has been fixed.
  • In Loadout there is better error handling.
  • There was an issue where a plugin installation guide could not always be closed. It has been fixed.
  •  When using the tablet to join as Commander, there is better handling. At the same time on the server, the slots for Commander fill up.
  • The popup for correct info is now shown when a player tries to use the internet to access BattleScreen using Xbox One.
  • When one would launch BattleScreen in Smartglass using compatible devices, there was an error message that was displayed. This error message has been fixed.
  • In BattleScreen, there was an issue that was fixed in which enemy indicators kept looking in a direction that was opposite to the one they were meant to look.
  • There has been an improvement in handling when custom region is being set in the filter for Server browser make it now work as it is intended.

Apart from updating Battlelog, DICE made confirmations on reports of a new patch meant for Battlefield 4’s PC version. It is to be released next week and it is expected to fix the common ‘one-hit headshot’ causing bug and remove a blur effect that is irritating and is caused by EMPs of Commanders. An exact date for the said patch has not yet been confirmed. All the same, the PC patch notes for 2nd December week are as follows:

  • The computer performance and network screen have been tweaked to show the right values. Players are now able to test their network and computer connections and receive recommendations in the event they want to adjust something so as to improve their experience in gameplay.
  •  When exiting to main Menu from Single Player campaign, a common crash would occur. This has been fixed.
  • In some cases, damage from one bullet would be applied many times. This was the result of a bug known as ‘one-hit kill bug’ and it was fixed.
  • When playing on some multiplayer maps, in most cases Hainan Resort and Golmud Railway, audio occasionally dropped out. This audio bug was fixed.
  • There was a blur effect that appeared on soldiers every time Commanders used EMP attacks. The blur has been removed.
