The Launch of Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 Go Metal

Samsung has longed been criticized for using less than quality material for their devices.

Samsung has used plastic material continually for their devices. HOwever, Samsung has seen the light and have outfitted their latest devices with metal to get to the younger market. The Galaxy A3 and A5 come in a variety of colors and have mid-range specifications. They are slimmer than other Samsung devices, and on the A7 you even have 64-bit architecture.

Display and Design

For the A5, it has a Super AMOLED HD 5 inch display. It has a high 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and weighs 123 grams with dimensions of 139 x 70 x 6.7 inches. For the A3, it comes ins a Super AMOLED QHD 4.5 inch display. It has a lower 540 x 960 pixel resolution and weighs only 110 grams. They are similar to the Galaxy Alpha but with a metal frame.

Operating System and Hardware

Powered by a quad-core processor on the A5, it has a RAM capacity of 2GB with speeds of 1.2GHz. It has an internal storage of 16GB, with the expansion option through a microSD. The A3, on the other hand, provides the same quad-core processor, but a RAM capacity of 1GB. Only offering 8GB of internal storage but also has expandable memory options. They both come with TouchWiz UI, and Android KitKat v4.4.

Camera

Both A3 and A5 provide a front shooter with 5MP. While the A5 has a 13MP back camera, and the A3 has an 8MP back camera.

Battery

They each provide a sufficient battery, with the A3 having a smaller 1900mAH battery, but the A5 has a 2300mAH.

Price

While there has been no official confirmation on the price. It is rumored to believed that Samsung will price the A3 in between $350 to $400, and the A5 will be between $400 to $450.
