League of Legends patch sees updates to Gragas, Kassadin and Sona

League of Legends

League of Legends have released an update on their Public Beta Environment which contains changes for some of the most played Mid and Support Champions.

With updates to two of the most dominating mid lane champions, one of the current strongest junglers and and a change to a few support roles, competitive and casual game play next patch will definitely be different.

Soraka has also had an icon rework for her abilities which looks quite attractive, as well as LCS 2014 icons being added so summoners can support their favourite EU or NA LCS team.

You can find some of the champion updates in the upcoming patch below, please note some of this information may change before it hits live servers.

Gragas

Gragas Changes
Gragas is one of the most played mid lane champions and players have been waiting anxiously for a nerf to his Ultimate which is an AoE knockback ability, the next patch will see the damage of this ability get a minor nerf as it upgrades to higher levels.

  • Explosive Cast (R) – Damage decreased from live value of 150/300/450 (+ 0.9 AP) to 150/250/350 (+0.8 AP) (Nerf)

Kayle_0

Kayle Changes
Kayle is a very strong champion that can perform in many roles, that being said she is only usually picked to counter Zed. A minor nerf has been applied to her heal and movement speed ability to increase mobility for herself or allies.

  • Divine Blessing (W) – Grants 1% movement speed per 8 AP, down from 10 (Buff)

Kha'zix

Kha’zix Changes
Kha’zix is one of the stronger champions out of the jungler category this season, and with a buff to his Isolation (Q) spell – we are quite surprised. If anything we were expecting a nerf due to the champions sheer mobility and 1v1 potential. I guess not.

  • Taste Their Fear (Q) – Isolation bonus damage increased from 45% to 50% (Buff)

Sona

Sona Changes
Sona’s Song of Celerity is without a doubt her most under used spell, but it is also one of her most powerful when used defensively or offensively at the right time. A minor buff to this spell could push Sona back to being top of the support champions to help her ADC partner get away from risky situations or to secure a kill on an enemy.

  • Song of Celerity (E) – AP Ratio for bonus movement speed on activation increased from 0.02 to 0.04 (Buff)

Kassadin

Kassadin Changes
Kassadin has been one of the stronger mid lanes for quite some time, with its gap closing ultimate and ability to get away from almost every possible jungler gank, it wasn’t long until he got a nerf. Next patch we will see quite a few changes to Kassadin, one to his slow and a few to his ultimate. This should stop Kassadin from rift walking as much and also make it focus on a little more mana regeneration rather than a pesky Mejai’s Soulstealer!

  • Nether Blade (W) – Cooldown increased from 9/8/7/6/5 to 10/9/8/7/6 seconds (Nerf)
  • Rift Walk (R) – Damage lowered from 80/100/120 to 60/90/120 (Nerf)
  • Rift Walk (R) – Subsequent Rift Walks have increased cost if used within 12 seconds an increase from the current 8 seconds (Nerf)
  • Rift Walk (R) – Subsequent Rift Walk damage lowered from 50/55/60 to 30/45/60 (Nerf)

Kassadin has also had a minor art rework which changes the way his particles operate, when he moves or uses his Force Pulse (E) the animation now looks different, more in the YouTube video below.
