Leaked Battlefield Hardline Footage is Six Months Old

Solid evidence of the previously leaked Battlefield Hardline was validated when a reveal video was found on Wednesday, May 28, but the footage was taken shortly after by Electronic Arts. The title has now been confirmed by EA, DICE and Visceral Games (the title’s co-developer).

Despite the footage being removed, CVG has reported that said footage is six months old, according to Visceral Games’ executive producer for Battlefield Hardline Steve Papoutsis.

Revealed via Twitter, Papoutsis stated that the footage was for an internal meeting that occurred several months ago. On the plus side, he has also announced that we’ll be able to “see the real deal” at this year’s E3 in June.

The leaked footage in question revealed a lot of information regarding Battlefield Hardline’s story, features and characters. The gameplay footage is said to have ran on a PlayStation 4 utilizing the Forstbite 3 graphical engine. The game’s campaign, entitled “Omaha”, is based on a Miami cop named Nick Mendoza, a maverick who takes on crime with the city and encounters police corruption and underground criminal circles. Additionally, DICE’s vice president Karl Magnus has promised that Battlefield 4 will still receive support from the studio, despite Battlefield Hardline being in the pipeline.
