LG G3 US, UK and Global Release Date Rumors

by GH Staff

The title is pretty much self-explanatory. Unfortunately, we’re still stuck to rumors, despite the LG G3 being recently officially unveiled and already becoming available in Asia. The phone was promised to us initially for the month of June, but as we’re already in said month, the likelihood of seeing it in Europe or the United States this month is diminishing fast. The LG G3 is an extremely anticipated release, promising to be one of the best smartphones of 2014, and having a price that’s more than capable of competing with its rivals.

The LG G3 is currently available in Asia, where it’s getting praised beyond means. This is hardly surprising, as LG has improved almost all aspects of the G3’s predecessor, the extremely good, affordable and popular LG G2. We’re getting a brilliant screen, easy to use UI and top of the line hardware for a reasonable price. So when are we actually getting it? Well, according to rumors reported on by The Verge, most UK carriers will be launching the LG G3 on the 1st of July. It’s not exactly June, but it’s close enough, so we can survive without it awhile longer.

Unfortunately, North Americans don’t seem to be as lucky. As with the LG G2, the LG G3 is said to release gradually across the various US carriers and retailers, and the first to launch it might be Verizon. A safe bet would be the 25th of July, seen in an image leaked through Evoleaks. AT&T was the first to launch the LG G2 last year, but this year might be different, as the site apparently showed images with the phone together with an August 8th date. As seen in the leaked image above, the LG G3 might arrive in the United States as early as the 25th of July.

There are no indications as to when the phone will be coming to other areas of the globe. We still don’t know what the LG G3 will cost exactly, but rumors suggest it will be close in price to the Samsung Galaxy S5 (the regular phone without the smartwatch). In any case, it’s doubtful the LG G3 will be made available in June, as the initial speculation was suggesting. However, based on feedback emerging from Korea, the LG G3 is every bit as good as it promises to be, so it will most likely be worth the wait.
