Last week, LG held an event in New York, celebrating its pre-launch of the LG G3. Many press members have been invited, and hands-on experiences have been since shared. It’s clear already that the LG G3 will be a huge success, and the only question remains – when is it officially launched world-wide?
The specs of the LG G3 are damn impressive, to say the least. It’s safe to assume that everyone lucky enough to test the phone hands-on was more than impressed, and there’s no doubt that everyone picking it up once it’s launched will feel the same. It’s the first smartphone to be released this year that can seriously give the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 a run for their money. The only other notable candidate would be the Sony Xperia Z2, which is a great phone, but the hefty price-tag is keeping that one at bay for now. In any case, the LG G3 is arguably the best phone announced this year, at least on Android, and it’s surprisingly affordable all things considered. The LG G3 will be launched after the 25th of July most likely, but fixed dates aren’t set yet, and it’s likely that different carriers will start offering the G3 at different times.
On the other side of the front-lines, we’re also anticipating the Apple iPhone 6, which will be coming slightly later. Most reports suggest that the iPhone 6 will have two separate launch dates for its two different sized versions. The first to come out is also the smaller, standard version, and we can expect it to land mid-September, most likely on the 19th. It’s going to cost around $650, so it will be similarly priced to the LG G3. These are carrier-free prices, so keep that in mind.
Apple is preparing a lot of major changes and improvements with the iPhone 6, and so it should. Since the launch of the iPhone 5 (let’s face it, the 5S wasn’t really revolutionary), the company hasn’t been pushing out anything significant in terms of smartphones. The iPhone 6 has to be great, as the competition is developing, the Apple brand alone won’t cut it anymore. We haven’t had the chance of a hands-on with it so far, but rumors suggest it’s actually a huge step up from the 5S.
Which one are you more curious about? The LG G3 is the first to come, but perhaps you’re willing to wait the extra timeĀ for the Apple iPhone 6?
