Feel Free Games announced today via the PlayStation Blog that Luma Island is coming to PlayStation 5. The cozy title is built around exploring, building, farming, and adventuring, solo or together. It first launched on PC in November 2024, and since then more than 800,000 players have joined, according to the developer.
Farm life, professions, and magical Lumas
Players start with an old caravan and a rundown farm, then choose what to do. They can build and decorate the farm, grow crops, raise animals, choose from eight professions, meet townsfolk, and hatch Lumas, the magical companions that join the journey. There are no stamina bars or inventory limits, so the game leaves more room for building and exploring instead of managing survival meters.
Exploration spans forests, mountains, and thick jungles. Caves are full of resources, ancient temples hold puzzles and traps, and hidden treasure and secrets are spread throughout. Pirate Cove is a specific area with its own places to explore and pirate-themed minigames and challenges.
Co-op and cross-platform play
Luma Island supports up to 4 players online in co-op, with shared building, resources, and exploration. Cross-platform play is supported across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, which means players on those platforms can farm and adventure in the same session. The mix of shared progression and relaxed systems may appeal to fans of Cozy Campfire Club and Stardew Valley, while the eight professions and Luma companions provide different goals.
Because building, resources, and exploration are shared, cooperative groups can divide tasks or work on the same project. The same systems apply whether players are farming at home, exploring caves, or taking on Pirate Cove challenges.
Three difficulty modes and PlayStation Store wishlist
Three difficulty modes are available to adjust the challenge: Cozy, Adventure, and Hero. Cozy Mode has no combat unless the player chooses it, while Adventure and Hero add more challenge. Those who prefer a calm session can stay in Cozy Mode, while groups looking for a tougher run can switch to Adventure or Hero.
The PlayStation Blog post also confirms that Luma Island can be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store starting today, September 24, 2026.
