The farming simulation franchise, the Harvest Moon series, is straining away from reality and gradually transforming into a fantasy. Though the main objective has not drastically change about a male or female individual who must restore an abandon farm, this virtual world used to be relatively simple with some limitations that poses a little challenge to veteran fans at any age. Now, the developers of the Harvest Moon: the Lost Valley is making this latest title unbelievable “easier”, which is strikingly puzzling to comprehend when this family-oriented game already exists with a minimum to none difficulties.
Natsume Twitter shares Ceecee’s Musing blog that will archive the latest development and progress as a monthly diary. In the very first entry, this writer reports three significant new alternations. The first discussion revolves around finding the right tool to complete a specific task. Instead of locating a particular instrument among various tools inside the storage compartment, the main character can simply walk to a tree and press “A” to automatically summon the axe that chops the tree down instantly. Meaning, the creators just made context-sensitive configurations, since certain operations cannot be carried out to a tree, such as milking or shearing the tall plant.
Secondly, no further upgrades for these farming equipment will be implemented, but the blogger insists that Harvest Moon sprites will act as a replacement because these nature loving creatures will perform various chores: watering the crops, mining material stone, collecting logs, etc. By asking these adorable subordinates to finish these tasks, players will have more time to explore the world without worrying about upgrades.
Finally, players do not need to worry about the bag’s capacity to hold numerous resources because this storage area will hold up to 255 of each item. Meaning, no more running back and forth to retrieve objects from the house to deliver these items to villagers across the entire map, since this Mary Poppin’s pack will contain everything.
Personally, I disapprove these time-saving changes for multiple reasons: completing essential tasks too fast will not only quicken the story but also decrease hours of the game-play, losing the level ups for each equipment will mean no additional hours spent on maximizing them, and missing this resource management will dampen the whole experience in building strategies to accumulate more money, crops, and other materials in the shortest amount of time. As such, making Harvest Moon so easy is ridiculous to the very end and disappoints the growing community to see its standards lower from previous works. To experience this new chapter, this anticipating title will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in October 21st, 2014, but GameStop will also thrown in a plush dog for any potential buyers who preorders this crafty project at their local store.
