Blackberry is one of the most trusted phone manufacturers. People who have used these phones tend to have a special liking for them. Unlike BlackBerry, Huawei may be a new entrant into the smartphone business but the company has also released devices that compete at the same level as other established brands. Blackberry Z3 and Huawei Ascend P7 are two very powerful phones from these two manufacturers, and this is how they compare.
Design
The Z3 is amongst the few blackberry phones without the trademark QWERTY keyboard. This phone measures 5.51 x 2.87 by 0.36 inches unlike the Huawei that is 5.50 x 2.71 by 0.26 inches. The two are almost similar except that Z3 is a little heavier at 164 grams compared to P7’s mere 124 grams.
Display
Both Huawei Ascend P7 and Blackberry Z3 have 5 inch screens although with varying resolutions. The Z3’s is 540 x 960 pixels at 220 ppi while that of the P7 is 1080 x 1920 pixels at 445 ppi pixel density. This means that the Huawei’s screen is way superior to that of the Blackberry.
Camera
Unlike the Z3 that has a 5 MP rear camera, this Huawei boasts of a whopping 13 MP rear camera. However, both of them sport LED flashes which means that you can take quality pictures in dim light with both phones quite well. They can also record 1080p videos. Z3’s inferiority is still exhibited when it comes to the front camera. It has a 1.1 MP camera compared to P7’s 8 MP.
Hardware and Operating System
Blackberry has stuck to their operating system meaning that the Z3 is no different. However, it comes with the latest version, Blackberry 10 unlike the P7 that is shipped with android 4.4.2, KitKat with a quad-core processor clocked at 1800 MHz. On the other hand, the blackberry’s dual core processor runs at 1200 MHz. Huawei’s P7 has 2 GB RAM whereas the Z3 has a decent 1.5 GB.
Battery
The two batteries are equally matched at 2500 mAh although the Blackberry offers a talk time of 15.5 hours compared to P7’s 22 hours.
Verdict
These two are exemplary smartphones from two manufacturers who have almost nothing in common. However, if you were to choose between them, then the Huawei Ascend P7 would be an automatic choice.
