Yesterdays Comic-Con panel revealed details on the return of the Mako planetary exploration vehicle. Yes, the popular fan exploration vehicle is back, proving that BioWare is indeed listening to their fans. The Mako was missed by some from Mass Effect 2 and 3, which to be honest was cool at first but later a bit repetitive. Which is no doubt why it was removed in the first place. So lets hope BioWare make better use of the Mako.

It’s a newly designed Mako ground vehicle, is faster looking and one that will take advantage of next-gen consoles. The new mako looks to be a passive transport this time around as it does not have a top mounted cannon, at least in the images shown in the conference.

BioWare showed off concept art of not just of the Mako, but also how your hero will be kitted out. Both Male and Female versions in full combat gear.

Some other detail that came to light from the panel, confirmed that the main character of the game will be Human. BioWare is still tight-lipped on what playable races will be in the game. They also reminded everyone that the game itself is still years away from its release and what was shown is subject to change. Basically, it’s all prototype images and ideas which may or may not be included the final version.Commander Shepard it seems, its well and truly out of the picture. (Maybe dead from the ME3 ending most of us hated?) There will be little or next to no reference of characters from the previous Mass Effect games. But its possible there could be a few cameos? (That sounds like DLC content to me..) And by the sounds of what BioWare said, the game is based in or around the time period and lifetime of Shepherd.
