Today a new trailer for Metro Redux, an updated and redefined version of both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light was published. Both of the Metro games have been hailed as two of the best games atmospherically and graphically. However, in the past a significantly powerful gaming PC was needed to play such games with satisfying results. No longer will this be the case with Metro Redux.
Metro Redux will bring remastered versions of both games to Xbox One and Playstation 4. PC players will also have access to the remastered versions. Console players can purchase both games for $50, but right now PC players can pre-order Metro Redux for half that amount on Steam.
For me, the most exciting aspect of Metro Redux is not wholly in the updated graphics. The game itself is actually experiencing updates as well. I actually played 2033 after Last Light and although I loved the game I was disappointed in the quality of AI and NPC’s and in the very lacking stealth system. Metro 2033 Redux has improved AI mechanics and incorporates the same stealth system as Last Light.
Other bonuses are offered as well. 10 hours of extra missions come with the Last Light Redux and various tweaks to the game’s engine and story flow can also be noticed.
The important question here is whether or not Metro Redux is worth your hard earned cash. If you are a console player or have never played the Metro games before, this is a must have. Two great, remastered games for less than your typical triple-A title is a no brainer. If you are a PC player who has already played both games, then it is more of a question of your devotion to the series. The Steam deal enables you to buy each redux for only $12 a piece. It won’t break your bank, but you best be sure you will get your money’s worth in enjoyment before you press purchase. I am strongly considering the purchase myself.

If you still aren’t sure, look for others’ opinions on the Metro series. The general consensus is these are kick-ass games.
