Microsoft have created a new scheme aimed at bringing students even closer to both Xbox One and Xbox 360, with applications now open for their student ambassador programme in the UK.

“This September we’re looking for Students to Join Team Xbox at Universities across the UK,” reads the statement on Xbox.com. “We’ll kit you out with everything Xbox related you could possibly wish for, get discounts for your mates and the option to win lots of other goodies. You’ll have the exclusive opportunity to run amazing events across the year and we’ll train you up at Xbox HQ.”

Microsoft are looking for students with a good understanding of gaming — not a surprising criteria at all — effective use of social networking abilities and, most importantly, up-to-date information on what’s happening at your university. Additionally, the incentives include the opportunity to run paid events on behalf of Xbox and, well, receiving free games (both old and new).

In order to apply for the programme Xbox users must log into Xbox.com and explain to Microsoft why they would be “a worthy ambassador.”

Applications close on September 26th, 2014 and those who are successful will be contacted over Skype for an interview.

Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to enhance your CV by working for one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. Further details can be found on Xbox.com.
