Mighty No. 9 the brand new platformer from Comcept has entered its beta stage today. Invites were sent out to backers who made the $80 payment to earn beta access. Beta access has started what Comcept are calling a ‘Mighty Month’ as Comcept announced that they have partnered with Inti Creates, and if you’re a backer to Mighty No. 9 you will receive a free copy of Mighty Gunvolt. Trivia on the Mighty No. 9 website is also available and fan art contests were announced too.
Comcept also released a new gameplay trailer for Mighty No. 9 which you can see below. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune is producer on the game and it certainly shows with Mighty No. 9 taking a similar style to the ever-popular Mega Man.
In Mighty No. 9 you play as Beck, the ninth unit in a set of combat robots called the ‘Mighty Number’. When a computer virus attacks all your fellow units and machines around the world, it’s up to you to fight the rogue robots, discover who the main threat is and save the world. In the game you can jump, run, shoot and kill your enemies, Beck can also transform into different shapes.
