One week before Christmas, on the 17th of December, Minecraft will be landing on Playstation 3. The game will be available in the Playstation Store tomorrow, however, downloadable skins and texture packs will be available “soon”, but definitely not on launch day.
As far as other Sony platforms are concerned, we know that there are versions being developed for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita, but news about these versions will be made available next year. All we’re getting from developer Mojang for now is “Expect more news in the New Year”. There’s no confirmation of Sony specific skins or Remote Play support either for now, neither being confirmed or denied officially.
This release comes late already, as the game had already passed an astonishing 10 million copies sold on the Xbox 360 and over 13 million copies on the PC. It will be interesting to see how well Minecraft will be doing on the Playstation 3.
