Naughty Dog has certainly been generating many news articles lately. Unfortunately it seems each week I am faced with writing an article concerning the departure of another member. This week the lead character artist Michael Knowland has left Naughty Dog for unknown reasons. This is causing quite the controversy since multiple people are leaving Naughty Dog and we aren’t getting any answers as to why. Knowland’s departure follows creative director Amy Hennig, game director Justin Richmond, and Art director Nate Wells.

With all the recent departures from the studio and everyone wondering what the reasons behind the departures are, it’s easy for rumors to emerge regarding the fate of the next Uncharted title. No one is sure what is going on over at Naughty Dog, and those who do are not speaking up. Naughty Dog has yet to make any sort of comment on any of the departures, and it appears as if they don’t plan to anytime soon. The big question is, will the next Uncharted game ever see completion? Many people are anxious to get answers.
One trend I’ve noticed regarding the departures is that all of the departures are from department heads, they were all directors of some aspect of the game. Could Naughty dog be seeking new leadership and direction for the game? Whatever the case, we will have to keep a close eye on the studio and see what develops.
