As the title explains, NBA Live developer Scott O’Gallagher officially confirmed his departure from EA Sports to NBA 2K. EA Sports had confirmed the departure back in June, but O’Gallagher never officially announced that he had moved to 2K.
Goodgamebro found that on twitter O’Gallagher had updated his twitter profile to “Gameplay Producer for NBA 2K”. It wasn’t necessarily a live press conference, but with this update O’Gallagher has confirmed his new placement.
2K Sports has had a surge over the past few years with their outstanding NBA 2K games. As far as the problems go, the fans don’t seem to mind as they keep coming back for more. NBA Live has clearly been competitor number 2, with it’s sales not matching the towering NBA 2K. This move is not about O’Gallagher. This move is about how the sales are going to stack up as well as how each company is going to deal with the competition coming this fall. Both are highly anticipated to become predecessors to their 2014 versions. Both are bringing in higher level of graphics. Both are going to have a lot of pressure on them to bring something huge to the table. New producers or not, it’s the content that’s going to come out of each game that will sway our opinion.
Both NBA Live 15 and NBA 2K15 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on October 7, 2014. NBA 2K15 will be also be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
