Publisher Konami has uploaded a brand-new behind-the-scenes video focusing on the process of recreating Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 cover star Mario Götze in the upcoming title.
Götze, the 22-year-old German attacking midfielder who plays for Bundesliga side Bayern München, was revealed earlier this year by Konami as the cover star for PES 2015, with their selection based on him being a “player that truly epitomizes the pace, skill and moments of incredible brilliance that elevate modern football.”
The preview features Götze arriving for a photoshoot session and photographers placing him in front of a green screen wearing his club kit, while Cold War Kids, one of the musicians confirmed on the soundtrack of the title alongside well-known artists such as Bastille, Imagine Dragons and Bombay Bicycle Club, have their song “Miracle Mile” accompanying the video.
Check out the video featuring Götze below.
“This year, with our debut on next-gen, we had to step up our game,” reads the statement on the PlayStation Blog. “To re-create faces in our football game, the most common method is for the clubs themselves to send us high-res pictures of their players from different angles, and then the 3D artists sculpt on model them free-hand, trying to make them as accurate as possible. But now, thanks to the new engine and console capabilities, we brought in 3D scanning, as seen in our recent capturing session with Mario Götze.”
Running on Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine, PES 2015 is scheduled for release worldwide on November 13th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
