New Dying Light E3 2014 Gameplay Trailer

Dying Light no longer cross-gen, current-gen only

Well as E3 2014 creeps closer, more details about certain games will be revealed. Today, a new gameplay trailer for Dying Light has been released and it was made specifically for next week’s E3 2014. Now, Dying Light has always looked like a clone of Techland’s previous game, Dead Island, but this trailer attempts to show why the general public should be excited for zombie killing in 2015.

The preview beautifully mixes cool parkour with brutal melee combat, which both looks and feels intensely graphic. On top of this, the public gets a first glimpse at a storyline, with the main character having some reservations about his day job: he exclaims that “I am not a murderer,” and someone responds with, “of course you are, my friend. In the right circumstances, anyone is.” Finally, the nighttime sequence looks exhilarating; I have had my own reservations about this game, but the mixture of parkour and brutal melee with the pulse-pounding nighttime gameplay looks terrifyingly amazing. To see the main character scurrying home and avoiding the over-powered zombies was truly frightening.

As previously mentioned, publisher Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment announced that Dying Light has been delayed until 2015: at the moment, the company has not given a specific date, but I would expect an announcement at E3 2014. The game will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
