In a new video interview for Evolve, Turtle Rock co-founder Phil Robb talks about a new monster that players can use called the Kraken. Coming from the same studio that brought the cooperative experience of the Left 4 Dead series, Evolve is based around a 4 vs 1 style of multiplayer in which a team of four hunters takes on a monster controlled by another person, as opposed to AI.
Up until now, the Goliath had been the monster of choice whenever Turtle Rock decided to show off the game. As Robb explains, and as is evident by the gameplay footage, Kraken handles differently than Goliath. Rather than brute force, Kraken’s attacks are more ranged and the beast also has the ability to float.
Robb also confirmed that Evolve will ship with 3 monsters, 12 hunters, and over 12 maps, although you can probably expect more content to be added post launch. You can check out the full video below.
