New gameplay videos revealed for Final Fantasy Agito

by GH Staff

Popular Japanese gaming magazine; Famtisu, has released a string of gameplay videos focusing on character customization for the upcoming Final Fantasy Agito (previously known as Final Fantasy Type-O), which is a fusion of both single player and multiplayer elements focusing on social interaction and the ability to purchase content to further a character’s progression through in-game microtransactions. More interestingly is the sense of community – players will take a vote on a regular basis to determine how the narrative reveals itself, this is done through various chapters which are to be apparently be updated each fortnight. Let’s get down to the videos themselves.

Character Creation

Here we see the player altering their character’s hair and skin color as well as switching genders and facial features.

Voice Selection

Speaks for itself (no pun intended, I swear) – the player is alternating between various voice settings to suit their preference.

Equipment Selection

The player experiments with different pieces of equipment, including dual-swords, a trident and some sort of gun, which looks like a pistol/shotgun hybrid.

The Dormitory

This looks like the core hub in which players will be at between missions and such, we can also see a cute Moogle floating around, which is never a bad thing. Right?

Fountain Square

Here we see the player interacting with other characters – this location looks busy with lots of stuff going on, unfortunately I don’t speak Japanese so it’s difficult to understand what the characters are talking about.

Motion Portrait

More character interaction, this time more intimate it seems – we see a countdown appear mid-conversation, showcasing love hearts. Perhaps a way of showing affection to other players.

The game is to launch in Japan this month on iOS and Android devices – no specific date has yet been mentioned, which is bizarre as we’re already halfway through May. Unfortunately, there is no sign of a release outside of Japan currently.
