In an open letter addressed to fans, IO Interactive shared new information about their upcoming Hitman AAA title. Featuring ‘open, non-linear level design’ the game will be a combination of the core gameplay in Hitman: Contracts, the best parts of Absolution and a dose of new graphics and large levels.
The developers also noted that the game will focus at ‘a globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career,’ as Diana Burnwood, his long-time handler, will also be a part of the game. The Contract mode of the game will also be available as players will be able to ‘create and build challenges by experimenting with the large levels and possibilities within them.’ Issues such as 47’s magic pockets have also been addressed by IO Interactive.
Built on the Glacier 2 engine, one of the main features of the new Hitman AAA title will be its non-linear level design. Players will be able to experience checkpoint-free, sandbox levels and create their own unique strategies as to how to handle the AI.
Developer IO Interactive also stated that more info on the game will be released later this year. The new Hitman game will be released on the PC and next-gen consoles. However, if you are eager to get new content, if you already haven’t, be sure to download one of the three newly released Hitman: Absolution contracts.
