A brand new game has been announced. ‘Lost Sea‘ is a 3D strategy action game that is set in a procedurally generated world on a group of islands inside the Bermuda Triangle. The game was announced on the PlayStation Blog and you can read the full post in its entirety here.
Your character ends up stranded after an air disaster, and you are tasked with exploring the islands, gathering crew mates and escaping. Of course, there is a lot more to it than that, the game will feature survival elements and you will need to prepare yourself for impending dangers.
‘In order to succeed in Lost Sea you will need to balance the immediate needs of you and your crew with the longer term goals such as researching powerful upgrades and unlocking access to new areas. Short term goals include things like gathering food to restore health and stamina, a frequent necessity in a hazardous island environment, where as upgrades allow you to tailor the game to your playstyle. For instance do you want to give your crew members armour so they can survive longer or torches that allow them to gather materials and protect themselves at night?’
Each island you visit will feature landmarks and dangerous and exotic creatures. You can take these out with your machete, but if any crew members die, they are dead forever. The game is procedurally generated, meaning each time you play the experience will be different. Enemies will spawn in different locations, and items will always be in different areas.
If you live in Australia, the game will be playable at PAX AUS, so you can try it out there. If you would like more information on Lost Sea, click here for the official website. You can see a teaser trailer of Lost Sea below.
