New Ways In Messaging – BlackBerry’s Retract Messages Option

by GH Staff

In the internet world, messages once send will not be in your control as it automatically reaches the receiver with in microseconds after you sent. Everyone who had experience with emails and messengers must have regretted at least once because of various reasons. Some of the common reasons include sending personal information to others, sending messages to other persons which are intended others, for sending abusive messages when you are angry etc. If you want to retract those messages it is not at all possible as all they are already sent.
The latest update of BBM which was released on Oct 31st 2014 has several additions which includes but not limited to HD picture transfer, timed messages, message retraction and many more. This update gives you much control over the communication and improves the privacy settings also.

Message retraction: This feature will improve the messaging experience for sure by giving an option to delete the messages that are present in the receiver’s chat history. This will give an option to rethink about the messages that are already sent. No more worries for sending the messages to the wrong contacts. This can save message senders from embarrassment due to wrong messages.

Timed Messages: With this feature one can set the time period at the time of sending of the message and the message in receiver chat will get vanished after the time specified. The sender can set the time from few seconds to few hours. If the receiver tried to save the timed message through screenshot or any other method, BBM will notify it to the sender.

Criticism: Some are arguing that these are useless features and using rarest of the rare occasions to prove their point of view. They are arguing that one can save the picture from BBM before it gets retracted or one can save the messaging or chatting history by capturing through screen shots before they gets retracted by the user. In the technology world there won’t be a perfect solution for all the things. As far as general view is concerned, the new update of BBM is very versatile and as usual BBM maintained its uniqueness.

Review: As per the BBM reports, its users are very much satisfied with the new features as it has changed the whole concept of messaging with its unique and dynamic messaging service. The “discover music” feature which will let you the user know about the music tracks that are frequently listened by their friends and other contacts is also getting positive response from users.

Expectations on further updates: BlackBerry recently revealed its plans to offer premium features like stickers, extra privacy settings for the paid subscribers. Several messaging applications are successfully getting revenue from options like sticker shop and hope BlackBerry is also planning the same. As of now, BlackBerry is free and for the next three months there won’t be any update. So in the upcoming update one can expect some significant chances if the rumours are to be believed.
Even if BBM introduces the paid subscription and sticker shopping options, most of the users opt for free subscription as the free subscription itself will offer so many features for sure.
