Owners of the handheld child of Nintendo have been waiting long enough to become a part of the MiiVerse, and their prayers have been answered. With the latest update released today for the 3DS comes a rather new experience for the portable console users – The MiiVerse.

The MiiVerse is the social hub of the Nintendo fans – much like the Xbox Live and the PSN. It lets users connect with other people who share their interests, using the Mii avatar. Players will be able to discuss their favorite games with other fans, post updates (much like tweets), share handwritten notes and much more.

Not only that, but Nintendo is combining the 3DS world with the one of the Wii U through the so-called Nintendo Network ID. The latest update will let 3DS customers share their virtual wallet with the Wii U. This is a great step for Nintendo to take, as owners of both consoles had to use separate eWallets with each of the devices.

The Nintendo 3DS update is quite big for the company. They even released a youtube video that further explains the new and updated features of the 3DS for their customers in Japan.
