It’s no mystery how Nintendo has remained to be a shining beacon for competitive gamers of all ages and the most fanatical of fans alike throughout its many glorious years of storytelling and near flawless game play. Nintendo know’s how to treat its faithful players right, a trait that most modern gaming industries often ignore. Though every now and again, the West side of the world seems to get shafted or put on hold from experiencing the latest in Nintendo’s wondrous exploits.
What are we missing out on now, you ask? Well just recently, Japan released a rather interesting expansion for the infamous Pokemon X & Y and its counterpart, the TCG: XY Online in the form of a distribution event known as Flashfire in all local gaming stores…in the UK.
You read correct. If you happen to live at the right place at the right time with your 3DS/2DS in hand, you’ll be lucky enough to receive a Charizard holding the Mega Stone that enables it to Mega Evolve during battle, for free! Pokemon X players will get a Charizard holding a Charizardite Y Mega Stone, while Pokemon Y players will receive one holding a Charizardite X Mega Stone. Will it ever make its way to the US? That question is still up for debate unless fans bring out awareness for their interest to the Pokemon gaming world, but that’s not the only thing Nintendo is holding out on.
In the critically acclaimed Mario Kart 8 that’s been overtaking Wii U sales by storm, Japan of course announced the eventual release of the Mercedes Benz kart, which will in time, cross over to our lovely neck of the woods. However, the gossip surrounding the DLC for new tracks and characters may no longer be just rumors and speculation, as left mildly apparent through hints made by none other than the developers themselves, such as add on racers like Diddy Kong, and Professor E. Gadd from the GameCube’s underdog highlight, Luigi’s Mansion.
While it still may take until late of 2014 for the Westward side of the gaming community to bask in this sudden ray of a nerd’s version of paradise found, we can at least bear in mind the hopeful outlook that Nintendo won’t keep its fans waiting too long for new DLC.
