Nokia Lumia 1320 Price Review Battery Life Specifications

Nokia hasn’t been offering us a great deal of high-end phones, but it certainly has offered us a range of low and medium budget offerings that often take us by surprise. If you’re considering purchasing a Nokia Lumia 1320 (a phone designed with youngsters in mind), you should know what you’re getting for your money. Is it a good value buy or not?

Design

The Nokia Lumia 1320 is one of the biggest phablets available on the mobile market to date. Almost as big as a 7.0 inch tablet the device is pretty hard to get used to using, because of its size of 6.46 x 3.38 x 0.39 inches. Moreover, when extensively used it is sure to get tiresome to the hand because of its weight of about 220 grams. Nonetheless its design follows the tradition of other smart devices in the Lumia series. Available in various colors and despite being big in size, the Lumia 1320 is visually appealing.

Specifications

Compared to other smart devices in the same price range, the Nokia Lumia 1320 specifications are not outstanding. Powerful enough to let you enjoy some of the latest games and most of the hundreds of apps for Microsoft Windows Phone 8 Black, the smartphone features a Dual-Core 1.7 GHz processor that is backed up by an Adreno 305 GPu, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset and as much as 1 GB of RAM.

Display & Camera

One of the selling points of the Nokia Lumia 1320 is its huge display. Along with the Lumia 1520, the Nokia Lumia 1320 features the biggest screen available for a mobile running the Microsoft Windows mobile OS. However, despite its 6.0 inch panel, its pixel density is pretty low at only about 245 ppi, thus making its resolution size 720 x 1280 pixels. Even though the smart device delivers an overall decent multimedia experience, the low pixel density of the screen is a bit of a setback.

Another setback of the Nokia Lumia 1320 is its camera. Even though it is 5 MP in size, the camera lacks certain features, including HDR, thus making the quality of the photos pretty noisy and light dependent. The video recording capabilities are decent, as the camera is able to record at 1080p and 30FPS. However, the quality of the secondary VGA camera is dreadful, especially compared with other smart devices in the same price range.

Battery Life

The battery life of the Nokia Lumia 1320 is satisfactory as it features a non-removable Li-Ion 3400 mAh battery. The smartphone is able to withstand about 22 hours of talk time in a 3G network, 11 hours of web browsing, 9 hours of video playback, 98 hours of music playback and as much as 672 hours in standby mode.

Overall

Even though its specifications and camera are not as great, compared to other smartphones in the same price range, the display of the Nokia Lumia 1320 and is satisfactory battery life make it worth its price tag. Pretty tough to get used to and further blurring the lines between tablets and smartphones, the phablet definitely delivers a decent multimedia experience, despite the pretty low pixel density of its display.
